BSOD {BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH}
Symptom:
Windows stopped with blue background, or restart quickly after showing blue background.
Solution:
1. Check if symptom still exist after Windows reboot.
2. Check for change before encountering the BSOD, like new hardware or software added, BIOS setting change, new driver update, or BIOS update. if so, undo the change and try again.
3. Check the BSOD code. If unable to record the BSOD code, change settings as follow: Right click on my computer -> properties -> advanced system settings -> startup and recovery -> settings (Button), then uncheck "Automacically restart". 4. Try load Windows "Last known good configuration" from Safe Mode menu.
5. Run Lenovo diagnostics tool and check if there is any hardware failure, especially for memory and HDD.
6. Recover the Windows: System Restore, System Refresh, Factory recovery.
7. Get dump file from customer and escalate to technical support for further suggestion. Enable dump file: Right click on my computer -> properties -> advanced system settings -> startup and recovery -> settings (Button), under "Write debugging infomation", select "Kernal memory dump". If the Dump file address is "%SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP", then the dump file is in "C:\Windows"
